4. Padre Island
National Seashore
On Padre Island, you'll see
picturesque beaches, get a glimpse at rare wildlife, and check out the best
surfing spots in all of Texas. The 70-mile stretch of protected land is a haven
for rare sea turtles and nearly 400 bird species. The island also offers

Botanical Gardens & Nature Center
The South Texas Botanical Gardens
and Nature Center spans more than 180 acres and features beautiful natural
habitats and incredible exhibits like the 2600 square-foot Butterfly House. The
gardens are also part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, with a
